Short
Lisa Lerkenfeldt is an Australian composer and performer. Her endless piano and tape loop variations dissolve time through collages of decayed ambience, analogue manipulation and cyclic structure. Informed by patience and a tactile elegance, Lerkenfeldt has been working with extended durations and electroacoustic techniques since her debut A Liquor Of Daisies on Shelter Press in 2020.

Lisa Lerkenfeldt is a composer and performer based in Melbourne. Primarily using the piano, a reel to reel tape machine and digital software on her laptop, she blends tradition and experimentation. Drawing on early techniques of musique concrete, tape loops are cut by hand to accompany her gently intoxicating recitals. In 2020 she joined the roster of Shelter Press (France) with her debut EP A Liquor Of Daisies and LP Collagen. Following national tours of Australia and Japan, residencies in Paris and Melbourne she returns home to record a new album for tour and release in 2025.

"An ivory hued fever dream."
- Boomkat
"Lerkenfeldt's music can feel like the most plangent piano chords from all the most beautiful deep house songs in history, left to flood and decompose."
- Resident Advisor
"Fantastic, aesthetic, immersive. This year's best modern classical ambient daydream.
- Meditations
“Her work combines traditional instrumentation with experimental techniques, emphasising sound’s physicality and cyclical structures. At her residencies in Paris and Melbourne, the latter At The Above, she integrates historical and contemporary influences, working with restored pianos, analogue hardware, and modern technology. “
